Microstructure and electrical contact behavior of the nano-yttria-modified Cu-Al<sub>2</sub>O<sub>3</sub>/30Mo/3SiC composite

Abstract With the rapid development of copper-based composite in field electrical contact material industry, problem poor arc erosion resistance becomes more and prominent. Improving is an urgent to be solved. Cu-Al 2 O 3 /30Mo/3SiC 0.5Y /Cu-Al composites were prepared a fast-hot-pressing sintering furnace. The microstructure phase structure analyzed by using scanning electron microscope, transmission X-ray diffraction meter, respectively. properties at 25 V, DC 10-30 A investigated JF04C electric tester. mass loss was reduced 77.8%, rate 79.6% after addition nano-yttrium oxide under experimental conditions 30 A. At same time, energy welding force switching operations decreased, indicating that nano-yttria improved composite. This work provides new method for improving material.
